Scott D. Hyde, 37, of Tripoli, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marilyn J Sargent officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, in the Fellowship Hall at Faith United Church of Christ and one hour preceding the service on Friday.
Scott David, son of Jerry and Karla (Heine) Hyde was born August 27, 1980, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Frederika and later confirmed at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli. Scott received his education in the Tripoli Schools graduating from Tripoli High School in 1998. He would continue his education at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. Scott worked at U.S. Cellular in Waterloo in sales from 2001 until 2011, when his health no longer permitted. On October 6, 2007, he was united in marriage with Alicia Wisner at Faith United Church of Christ. To this union one daughter was born, Sophia. Scott was a long time member of Faith United Church of Christ. He enjoyed video games specifically, Injustice, movies, fantasy football and poker night with his friends, and trivia games with his family (which Scott would always win).
In addition to his wife, Alicia and daughter, Sophia of Tripoli, Scott is survived by his parents, Jerry and Karla Hyde of Tripoli; one brother, Shawn Hyde of Tripoli; two sisters, Megan (Tony) Reding of Cedar Rapids and Laura (Nathan) Winkel of Iowa City; mother-in-law, Tina Sauer of Tripoli; father-in-law, Jeff (Pam) Sauer of Waterloo; four sisters-in-law, Jen Sauer of Waterloo, Alena (Zach) Kammeyer of Tripoli, Jenna Clark, and Lacey Sauer both of Waterloo; one niece, Everly Reding; four nephews, Emerson Reding, Rowan Winkel, Gage Kammeyer, and Hoyt Kammeyer; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin and Norma Heine and Jim and Alma Hyde; and one uncle, David Heine.
